Working and loving it!

Busy working in the gorgeous studio.....I have a pile of cashmere sweaters from the thrift shop all washed and ready!

See the pile? so pretty!

I'm scheduled to do some arts & crafts type festivals this May & July, so I'm concentrating right now on increasing my inventory of super-soft and cuddly Kashmere Kitties....not only are they cute, but they're environmentally-friendly!

See the cut & sewn up "skins" that I made next?? They look a little creepy and forlorn like that, I know.

I've also drafted NEW patterns for cashmere plushness! I've got a pattern that doubles as either a lamb or a puppy (see the pink & blue skins lower left) and I re-patterned an Owl, mostly for Dear Daughter. That will be the argyle "skin" on the bottom right!

Stay tuned, I'll post pics as I get them all stuffed and pretty!

Hearts for Valentines

I'm making new work for February, as I am one of 3 featured artists at 83 Gallery in the Short North that month! Very excited, only a tad bit worried about getting it all finished.

I'm expanding my Valentine: anatomical heart series. Had to replace Burning Love, which sold last year (yay!) and am doing a larger one, "Hearts and Flowers", thinking about stitching a bony hand holding the creepy "flowers". It all depends on how cold it gets in the studio, and how much my own right hand hurts. Yep, that blasted trigger thumb is a bitch, people. Surgery is scheduled, though, so there's hope down the road!

Fabric for Knitters

I got this super cute Michael Miller fabric online.... too cute!! Great fabrics for knitters and sewers...and the skull and scissors fabric totally matches my tattoo!!

The Turquoise fabric is called "quilt pirates"

The Chocolate brown and pink fabric is called "Knitmare on Elm Street"

The Black and Lime Green fabric is called "That's Sew Wrong"

Somebody out there has a wicked sense of humor! I think I'll quilt the fabric and make up some tote bags and zippered accessory pouches!

New Etsy store!

Hey, I finally did it, took the plunge and listed some items on Etsy!

I've had the shop profile for ages, I've bought things, but at last I got the time and courage to list things. I am: quilt7metal on Etsy!

I've got all my spooky goth stuff listed today; Ghost Kitty, Ghost Bunny, Li'l Devil and Skull Scarves!

Check it out, add me to your favorites! (even if you don't buy, add me!!)

Stuffed Toys!

I realize Halloween is over, but this year I added to my Ghost Kitty and Ghost Rabbit family, with a Lil' Devil! Last year I sewed up some scarey Ghost Kitties & Rabbits to sell. The Kitty has a "ghost mouse" in its hand, and the Rabbits just hold a carrot, because I couldn't do a ghost carrot, they're already dead!

I used the same basic pattern as the kitty and rabbit, and cut it from flame patterned fleece. Then I created a new face, and added a little pitchfork!

Mittens, Mittens, knitting Mittens!

The wonderful pirate mitten pattern available free from http://www.helloyarn.com/piratemittens.htm has been flying off my needles lately! Black and white for me, red and white for my teenage daughter, and I reworked the pattern a bit to create fingerless gloves for a barrista at the local bookstore!
I used Jo Sharp DK wool and #5 needles. I had to decrease the stitches in the 1x1 rib cuffs, then I increased just before the chart, so everything worked.

My new Crafty Tattoo!

After another 2 hours in the chair (with short smoke breaks in between, of
course) Don of Argus Tattoo has finished my latest ink, a gorgeous design that
incorporates my love for working in Fiber, with big pointy scissors! Also, it
nods to my love of skulls, my greek heritage, and the fact that if it surprises
people, it's got to be good!
Do you notice the open wound in the lower left corner? There is a needle
and thread stitching me up!!
